Reflections for a new season.
This week marks the start of a new season: fresh updates, new ideas, and opportunities to go deeper. Every day is a new opportunity to be more prepared for what’s ahead.
After a reflective summer break, filled with deep thinking, analysis, and invaluable feedback from our vibrant community, it’s time to share the exciting updates I have planned.
I’ve taken a close look at what went well, what went wrong, what could be improved, and how best to elevate the way I share knowledge with you.
The approach for the next 52 weeks is clear: adapt, grow, and continuously improve, all grounded in your feedback and commitment to quality.
Here’s what you can expect going forward:
0. Precedent condition
First and foremost: I've realized how much I've enjoyed the last two years.
It takes a lot of effort, and the financial ROI definitely isn’t the driver, the personal ROI is huge: waking up every day with a clear purpose, enjoying the journey, and learning along the way is truly priceless.
Knowing that I have a vehicle to help water colleagues all over the world for years to come makes this feel less like work and more like a way of life.
The entrepreneurial adventure will continue.
So, a big thank you to everyone who has supported me, shared information, experiences and ideas, and brought up their problems so we can find solutions together.
1. The power of audiovisual & writing
In today’s fast-paced world, I’ve found that the most effective way to transmit knowledge is through a blend of audiovisual content and well-crafted writing.
This combination allows for clarity, engagement, and depth, giving you multiple ways to absorb and reflect on the information.
2. More depth, more quality
I’m committing to investing more time and effort into each episode and article.
This means longer preparation, extensive research, deeper conversations, and rigorous cross-checks.
The goal is to provide the most insightful and accurate analysis possible, ensuring every topic is explored thoroughly.
More depth will also mean analyzing and sharing perspectives from different angles.
One of my goals is to challenge your thinking, encouraging your brain to stretch, question, and activate your critical reasoning.
3. Boosting effectiveness
Effectiveness is key, and I’ll make sure it remains one of our main drivers.
I am focused on optimizing how we deliver content and engage with you, ensuring that every interaction, article, and video brings genuine value to your knowledge and professional growth.
To achieve this, your interaction, feedback, questions, and messages are essential, just as they proved to be over the past year.
So please, don’t hesitate to share your thoughts and queries (check later new features open in this regard…)
4. New subscription plans
I’m opening up new membership plans, designed for those ready to take the next step in their professional progress.
Our flagship Sunday article remains the cornerstone of our content strategy.
But:
I introduce a new subscription plan designed specifically for professionals who are serious about standing out.
The plan would give you access to our new Tuesday’s weekly publication, covering:
Unfiltered
I’ll start publishing my notes and insights in monthly articles tagged as “Unfiltered”, for those who want to dive deeper into each topic and go beyond the surface.
These will explore the nuances, context, and behind-the-scenes thinking that often doesn’t make it into the main content.
Offering fresh angles, in-depth analysis, and unfiltered opinions.
Desalination MBA Insights
It’s the field of the water industry that probably may bring the best capital returns as individuals and corporate, due to the barriers of the market to come in, and the difficulties in finding professionals with enough experience in this field.
There are difficulties in finding professionals with a broad understanding of these projects beyond their specialization, which often leads to failures in coordination, management, and poor outcomes.
Getting practical knowledge, beyond the typical academic that you may find in the market, it’s what can make you stand out from the rest.
I tell you, this section is gonna be really good.
Project Management Playbook.
Water is more than a resource, it’s a complex business shaped by people, processes, and systems.
While many water professionals bring valuable expertise, managing projects effectively remains a common challenge, as well as understanding their dynamics.
This series will delivers real, actionable knowledge you can apply directly to your work.
Whether you’re struggling to understand project workflows, facing management hurdles, team management, human resources, making critical decisions, or figuring out which tools to use and how, this is the place to sharpen your skills and gain clarity.
This is the handbook I would hand to anyone joining my team. It’s not about empty words, but about reflecting reality, sometimes shaped by human nature itself.
Founding Membership
Why open this choice? I don’t expect many to join right away, but who knows?
If I find 2, 3, or even 4 professionals (no more) interested in becoming official members of The Water MBA, the main requirement will be simple: the right attitude, plus a willingness to learn and share.
As a founding member, you’d co-create with me, publishing on social media from time to time, co-hosting some episodes, writing articles, brainstorming new ideas, researching, discovering amazing guests, and speaking with professionals to understand their constraints and explore solutions.
You will be contributing and collaborating as if you were an official team member.
Sounds like a lot? It’s not about quantity, it’s about quality. No minimum contribution required.
So, if you’re a professional who wants to take a step forward, step out of the office, gain visibility, and learn how we’re building this from the ground up, this could be a great year-long experience.
5. Focused social media & Water Netflix
To maximize impact and minimize distraction, I’m streamlining our social media presence to primarily focus on LinkedIn, the platform that best aligns with our professional community.
I’ll reduce to the bare minimum the time invested and presence in Youtube and Instagram.
All full-length videos will be exclusively available on our own subscriber-based TV platform.
By focusing less on external algorithms and more on building our own “home” — a TV platform, a Water Netflix, fully under our control — we ensure a direct and authentic connection with our audience without relying on unpredictable third-party rules.
6. Opening our library in 2026
Exciting news, our comprehensive library of resources will open in 2026.
New books (both on paper and digital) on the horizon to further support your learning journey.
The Water MBA Part I: The Entrepreneurial Journey — $19 Paper / $9 Kindle
Scheduled to be released beginning of 2026.
The book is aimed at those professionals who work 9 to 5 within organizations, just like me. I love my job, and financially, I don’t have much choice, haha.
But I also see so much talent locked inside many companies, untapped potential waiting to be unleashed.
Nowadays, it’s possible to unlock that potential by creating your own initiative.
In this book, I want to share my personal journey creating The Water MBA: what didn’t work, what went wrong, the methods I use, how I organize my time, and the timeless principles that remain valid in a rapidly changing world.
I’m confident this book will become a go-to reference for anyone eager to create something meaningful in our industry.
The book will outline certain criteria and values that will remain valid in the years ahead, precisely the ones that set apart those who succeed from those who don’t.
The Water MBA Part II: The Dynamics of the Water Business — (ongoing)
I love books. I guess some of you too.
When I have a paper book in my hands, it becomes my main source of knowledge, something I’ve relied on heavily over the years.
That’s why I want to share a book that helps readers truly understand our business from A to Z: the interconnections, the challenges, the barriers, every dot connected in a reading experience designed to deliver maximum value per page.
My goal is to make it desirable, effective, and engaging, with a clear outcome: after reading this book, a water professional will have a clear, comprehensive understanding of the full business picture, be better prepared to act accordingly, interact confidently with peers, and identify new opportunities within our industry.
7. Course registrations now open for 2026.
We are launching two highly anticipated courses:
The Desalination MBA (I know this one is going to be a game-changer for many)
The Water MBA Express
Due to the high level of time and effort involved, these courses will only run if enough professionals (at least 8-10) register their interest.
Both will happen sooner or later (actually currently being created), I know the value they will bring. It’s simply a matter of time priorities for the next weeks.
We invite you to help us make these courses a reality, more info here.
8. Increased presence at events
I plan to attend more industry events, workshops, and conferences to gain first-hand understanding of the inside dynamics of our sector.
This face-to-face engagement will help me better grasp the real needs of professionals and work toward meaningful solutions.
These events are the expected to attend:
Rethinking Water in New York City 25th September.
Desalination Technology Expo & Conference in Valencia on 4th-5th November 2025.
WEX Global in Seville on 9th-11th February 2026.
Global Water Summit in Madrid on 18th-20th May 2026.
IWA World Water Congress in Glasgow from 4 to 8th October 2026.
Spain-Latam Young Water Professional in October 2026 (venue to be confirmed).
UN Water Conference 2-4 December 2026 in UAE.
9. Community engagement & networking
I envision a space where our community can interact freely, a mid-term goal that will require a larger member base.
WhatsApp Group: For now, interaction is restricted (to keep social order under control :D), though I deeply appreciate everyone who reaches out to me privately with questions, updates and feedback. (really valuable)
Forums on The Water MBA TV: I could open public forums with different discussion threads for members to interact. Still exploring whether this would be effective at this stage.
Ask-Me-Anything Section: I open a channel in which you can upload privately any query, suggestion or question.
Private Chat: I’ll soon be opening a private chat, available only by exclusive invitation. I’ll personally select the most active community members, key professionals around the globe, and our paid subscribers. The chat will be organized by themes, giving everyone the chance to interact freely.
Over the past weeks, I’ve had some incredibly productive conversations, even leading to real collaborations and business opportunities. That’s why I believe this space could become a valuable place to stay ahead of the curve and work together on solving current challenges.
If you have any idea on how you would like to do networking within our community, please let me know!
10. Solutions and efficiency.
At the top of my mind this season is one key driver: how can I provide real solutions to the problems, goals, and aspirations of water professionals efficiently?
There’s no need to write 10,000 (empty) words if the same solution can be delivered in 500.
My focus is on creating concise, practical writing and videos that offer real value.
The ultimate goal is to ensure that peers in the water sector find actionable solutions, something that creates a before and after, a clear transformation.
Whether it’s helping you overcome a challenge, achieve a goal, or take the next step in your personal or professional growth, that’s the outcome I’m aiming for.
That’s why the Ask Me Anything section is so important: it gives you the space to share your private constraints, real-world project doubts, and challenges, so together we can work on solving them.
I’ll put it in other words, sorry for this.
Imagine we are a wastewater treatment plant: to operate, I need sewage. So bring me your ‘shit’—your challenges, your problems, your barriers, your expectations of where you want to be in 5–10 years. My job is to process that ‘shit’ and design a system that transforms it into something valuable, giving you the best possible outcome.”
10+1. Rebranding
Starting the new season, two years after the launch of The Water MBA, I'm refreshing the brand to better represent us today.
The old logo, with its four connected drops, symbolized a small knowledge exchange.
After two years of growth, I feel four drops aren't enough. The water industry is clearly a worldwide network with complex interconnections.
Our community is bigger, and more people can add value, connect, and share knowledge.
We're also making our educational focus clearer. We're here to learn, share knowledge on the water business, and help professionals solve challenges.
I’m experimenting with a bit of merchandising (shirts, water bottles, coffee mugs…), and in the coming weeks I’ll share the options I’m working on so you can check them out.
So much less…
We will spend much less time on specific social media and public content preparation, focusing instead on making our business school more valuable sharing more knowledge, desirable and attracting genuine interest.
The public content will only be a small byproduct from the main outcome, the real value, will come through our articles, courses, library, and TV videos, where solutions are explored in depth and tailored to the needs of water professionals.
And much more…
I’m investing more time and effort to deliver deeper, higher-value content for our members, those willing to dedicate attention, increasing the value per word and per minute of video.
This 2026 business plan step is key toward our 2030 goal: to deepen the knowledge we share, meet the evolving demands of water professionals, offer unique insights and discussions unavailable elsewhere, and expand our diverse community.

Invest in your growth — or ask your company to
If you’re reading this and you work within a corporate environment, make sure your company is investing in your training and professional growth.
If they aren’t, speak up and ask. The financial barrier is minimal compared to the impact it can have, and if you have the drive to improve, your company should be willing to cover it as part of their training budget.
Consider adding The Water MBA to your learning portfolio. In just one year, you’ll be much better prepared to face the challenges that lie ahead.
Motivation quote
During my career, I noticed many sad faces in some offices, people working without much passion. Maybe a little motivation can help.
I’m a tennis player (not a very good one), but what I love about tennis is this:
Every point is a new opportunity. No matter what happened before, the next point is fresh.
I believe our work and our industry should be approached the same way.
Tomorrow is a new day.
Make the best of it: help someone in your office, consolidate a lesson learned, have a meaningful conversation, learn something new, or even make a mistake and grow from it.
Every day is a new opportunity to be more prepared for what’s ahead.
The best sportsman in the world, Rafael Nadal, embodies this mindset. His passion and discipline are a reminder to always make the most out of every single day.
Let’s start!
This Tuesday you’ll receive the first article on Project Management, and next Sunday we’ll welcome our first guest, someone who will help lay an important foundation for the season.
Congratulations on the path you have taken with The Water MBA, for the commendable effort in building such an inspiring project, and may the new initiatives continue to gain momentum.
My best wishes for this new season ahead. I am sure it will be full of success and, above all, as you say, about enjoying the journey.
