New Episode
A new episode will be released on The Water MBA platform (link provided at the end of this email). As usual, I’ll share the story behind it and some reflections. Next week…
What a pleasure it was to host someone like Oswaldo Robredo from Belgicast to discuss Butterfly & Control Valves in desalination plants! Let me tell you firsthand—he brings a wealth of experience to this topic. I’ve witnessed on real ground his deep experience.
In desalination plants, there are various types of valves. Among them, the most well-known—and often the most problematic (Netflix Series coming soon :D) — are plug valves installed in the high-pressure lines, which come from various manufacturers
On the low-pressure side, butterfly valves, control valves, and check valves are the main players, where Belgicast has established a reputation for safety and reliability.
In this concise episode, you’ll gain insights that cover 80% of what any water professional should know about valves in desalination plants, including valuable lessons learned along the way.
Explore and Connect
Knowledge isn’t confined to a single source—not even The Water MBA. That’s why I aim to bring you insights from congresses, webinars, channels, and other courses or training resources I follow. If The Water MBA serves as a door that opens many others for you, I’ll be delighted. This week…
I’ve been a frequent listener of the Liquid Assets podcast since its inception—for reasons I’ll reveal in due time. Recently, I had a conversation with Ravi Kurani, the host, who recommended an episode I had surprisingly overlooked because of its title: “Hydro Sapiens.”
I’m sharing it with you because, from my perspective, the episode is absolutely amazing.
It’s just 30 minutes long, but it’s packed with thought-provoking insights from Stuart, the guest. Take a moment to listen and reflect on what he shares—you might find yourself viewing water from an entirely new perspective.
Honestly, I think it’s outstanding.
Hydro Sapiens: Redefining Our Relationship with Water
General Stuff
In this section, I’ll highlight notable congresses, webinars, and more. This week…
As I mentioned last week, I was truly honored to receive an invitation to join Christos on the Aqua Agitators YouTube channel.
One thing about Christos: he doesn’t ask simple questions—and that’s precisely what I love most about his interviews and the content he shares. His goal is to challenge you to think deeply, to reflect, and sometimes admit, “I don’t know,” “Maybe…,” or “What if…?” Because our business challenges have not easy answers.
I walked away from the 30-minute interview with more questions than answers, which I see as a truly positive outcome. I’ll carry those questions with me into 2025, searching for more insights along the way.
Asking for Help

From my side this week…
Maybe it’s a bit early, but I’m already thinking about the 2025-2026 season! :) We have some amazing guests lined up for the coming weeks. As you know, we’re always striving to evolve and improve. If you have any suggestions or feedback, feel free to share them with us!
