Discovering Lithium Extraction and (Don’t) Waste Water
Water Tech & Lithium with Antoine Walter | Emerging P2P Business with Walid Khoury | 3-Minute Survey – Help Us Shape the Future
2024 was a year full of learning, growth, and joyful experiences as we laid the solid foundation for The Water MBA.
The more I learned, the more I realized how little I actually know. It became clear how vital collaboration and collective effort are in creating meaningful change.
If I had to pick three highlights from 2024, one would definitely be discovering Antoine Walter and everything surrounding him—his podcast, (Don’t) Waste Water, and his insightful LinkedIn articles.
Antoine has quickly become one of my top go-to sources for staying updated on the water industry. His podcast is practically a real MBA in water, running since 2020!
What stands out about Antoine is his deep, solid knowledge across a range of topics, especially in the Water Tech space.
From investments to specific issues like lithium and, more recently, PFAS, he covers it all with clarity and depth.
Listening to some of his episodes on lithium, I found myself scribbling in my notebook: Water → Brine → Lithium Extraction → Lithium Refining → Batteries → EV Cars → China → Geopolitics → Power → …
It was eye-opening to see how water is at the core of everything, intricately woven into the global supply chain.
In this episode, recorded back in November 2024, you’ll notice the difference in lighting between us :D —a testament to the exceptional standard of his content which is dynamic and, at least for me, quite entertaining—both in video format and in his writing.
So, I can only say thank you to him for always being available to help and answer any questions I’ve had, even down to what camera and lighting he was using!
We got to know more about Antoine both as a person and a professional.
He breaks down for beginners (like me!) what’s essential to understand about lithium extraction and water.
For more in-depth insights on lithium, access his podcast, or start with the recommended content on our YouTube channel. Check out the playlist where we save must-watch episodes available across the network—this one on lithium was one of my favorites!
We also dive into why and how he created his podcast, what drives him, and the challenges our industry faces.
So here’s my honest and transparent recommendation:
Watch the episode.
Subscribe to the Don’t Waste Water Podcast on YouTube and Spotify.
Follow Antoine on LinkedIn. Engage occasionally with what he shares.
Check back in a year and let me know if you’ve learned something—I guarantee it 100%!
If you're seriously considering pursuing a Water MBA in the coming years, Antoine is the go-to expert.
Shaping The Water MBA 2026 Season – Your Input Matters!
We’re almost fully booked for the 2025 season, but we don’t stop there!
Today, I’m already kicking off the planning for our next season 2026, as I always say, anticipation is for me essential in life.
The Water MBA is and will continue to be shaped by what our community and industry need the most.
With subscribers from around the world, and a 50/50 balance between English and Spanish content, I want to hear from YOU.
💡 What do you want The Water MBA to bring for you in the next season?
To help us shape the next steps (along with our usual surprises 😉), I’ve prepared a short questionnaire—10 questions, it won’t take more than 3 minutes.
Thanks for your support! Let’s build this together.
I Won a Prize, But the Real Reward Was Giving Back 🌍💙
Two months ago, I attended Desalytics WaterWeek Online once again. After loving what I learned in 2023, I couldn’t miss the opportunity to join this year’s event—hosted by Walid Khoury, a name that needs no introduction in the water industry.
Beyond the insightful sessions, there were engagement activities, digital booths, and interactive features that made the experience even more enriching.
To my surprise, I ended up winning a prize, with two options to choose from:
1️⃣ A $200 Amazon voucher
2️⃣ A 1-hour session with Walid—where the $200 would be donated to Kiva.org to support an entrepreneur in need.
The decision was easy.
Living a life of service starts with prioritizing the uplifting of others.
So, the $200 were donated to Melinda in Costa Rica, whose story I’ll share below.
But here’s the best part—I received the grand prize after all!
Walid graciously agreed to record our session held last Thursday at early morning and share it with our community, so we can all learn from one of the most influential voices in the water industry.
The conversation was awesome, and we'll dive deep when the time comes.
However, we arrived at an interesting headline:
In a world where we often discuss B2B or B2C, we realized the concept of P2P business—People to People.
This idea seems to be at the core of his initiatives and work, as well as ours in The Water MBA.
Interestingly, when asked, "Who would you advise as a guest for The Water MBA?", he mentioned Antoine Walter—coincidentally scheduled for release in the same week.
That truly brings this week full circle. There's no better way to start March!
Stay tuned—the episode will be released in the coming weeks!
This experience is a reminder that small actions can create a ripple effect of positive impact.
Don’t wait. Don’t overthink. Start today.
