The Water MBA

The Water MBA

AI won’t fix your silos. Understanding them will.

Why the first step was a conversation with every department, not a prompt.

Every so often, on a Tuesday, I’ll share how I actually use AI in my day-to-day work.

So Thanks God it is FridAI is moving to Tuesdays.

Today I want to make a bigger point: maybe it’s time to switch the mode in which we work every day.

I take this seriously enough that I’ve enrolled in a Generative AI programme at IE Business School for 2027.

I believe companies will have to rewrite their procedures to take real advantage of AI, and I believe big corporates will move slower than small ones. More on that at the end.

In this essay I’ll share:

  • Why understanding the workflow comes before any tool, and why I had to sit down with every department to learn how they really work

  • Why I’m obsessed with actions, not status

  • How to turn your MoMs into a database that remembers every commitment ever made

  • The gap AI just erased: I can now build things that only a few people in the company could before

  • A one-month exercise to redesign your own job around what you want to see in your first five minutes every morning
